Our 2017 Rosé of Carignan is a blend of 3 Carignan blocks (Billy's, Coyote Rock, Mitchell Jacks) from the Poor Ranch in Hopland, Mendocino. The vineyard blocks were planted way back in 1988, 1943 and 1977, and have been farmed (certified) organically since day one!
We brought in all 3 blocks separately in September 2017. We destemmed the Billy's and Mitchell Jacks grapes and then pressed immediately into stainless steel tanks. We "foot treaded" (pigéage) the Coyote Rock Carignan before pressing. Each lot was kept in separate stainless steel tanks and went through fermentation naturally and then blended together in early February 2017. We canned our Rosé on February 22, 2018. 12.5% ABV
Aromas of persimmon, berries and Fuji apples with flavors of watermelon, plums and blood orange.
